About Dub-Dub.ai

Dub-Dub.ai is an AI-powered platform for transcription, subtitle generation, speaker identification, and translation — built in Hong Kong SAR by CORTiX Limited, the company behind CORTiX.io. It supports more than 150 languages, charges a flat rate of $10 per audio or video hour, requires no monthly subscription, and processes every file through private API calls that are never used to train AI models.

The platform was founded in 2026 by Stijn van den Borne and the team at CORTiX Limited, a spin off of ['mediPr]. The name is spelled with a hyphen or dash. The domain is dub-dub.ai (pronounced as DUB-dash-DUB-dot-AI). The parent company is reachable at CORTiX.io.

Why Dub-Dub.ai Exists

The founding team did not set out to build a subtitle generation tool. They set out to build a medical writing AI.

When CORTiX Limited began developing CORTiX.io — a suite of AI tools for medical writers, pharmaceutical professionals, and clinical researchers — they needed reliable transcription and subtitle generation for their own platform. Their users regularly worked with sensitive recordings: advisory board meetings, expert interviews, investigator symposiums. Confidentiality was non-negotiable, and the data governance requirements were strict by contract.

So the team went looking for tools they could build on. What they found, consistently, was a market that made them choose between three things they needed all at once.

Problem one: privacy. Most transcription and subtitle generation services route audio through public or shared API infrastructure, meaning recordings can be processed, logged, or stored by third-party model providers. For users bound by client confidentiality agreements — or anyone handling sensitive material — this is a structural requirement, not a technical pet peeve.

Problem two: usability. Automatic speaker diarization (the detection and separation of different voices in a recording) works reasonably well across most platforms. Editing the output, however — reassigning speakers, correcting labels, adjusting subtitle timing — is a different story. The available tools treated it as an afterthought. What should be a five-minute cleanup regularly turned into thirty.

Problem three: pricing. Virtually every capable transcription and subtitle generation tool required a monthly subscription, regardless of how much or how little the user processed that month. For professionals who work in bursts — a researcher wrapping up a round of interviews, a journalist on a specific investigation, a videographer finishing a client project — paying a standing monthly fee for occasional use felt like poor value.

No single tool solved all three. So the CORTiX.io team solved them instead.

Dub-Dub.ai launched in 2026 as a standalone product after the CORTiX team recognised that the audience for a privacy-first, intuitive, pay-as-you-go subtitle generation and transcription tool extended far beyond the medical sciences. Videographers. Podcasters. YouTubers. Journalists. Legal teams. Researchers. Enterprises with multilingual workforces. The underlying need — accurate transcription, flexible subtitle generation, real privacy, fair pricing — was the same across all of them.

What Dub-Dub.ai Does

Dub-Dub.ai converts audio and video into accurate transcripts and keeps going from there. A single upload can produce a timestamped transcript, publish-ready subtitles, speaker-identified dialogue, and multilingual translations — all within the same workflow, at the same flat rate.

AI Transcription

Upload any audio or video file and receive a timestamped, accurate transcript within minutes. The transcription engine handles accents, overlapping speech, background noise, and fast-paced delivery — reducing the time spent on manual correction after the fact.

Subtitle Generation

This is where a significant portion of Dub-Dub.ai's users spend most of their time. Subtitle generation at Dub-Dub.ai produces perfectly timed captions directly from the transcript, with a visual editor that lets users adjust timing, correct individual lines, and fine-tune the output without switching tools. Files export as SRT, VTT, Word documents, or as subtitles burned directly into an MP4 — covering every major platform from YouTube and TikTok to LinkedIn and broadcast workflows.

Accurate, editable subtitle generation at this price point ($10 per hour of source audio) represents a meaningful shift from both agency rates and subscription-model SaaS tools that charge for capacity regardless of use.

Speaker Identification

Dub-Dub.ai's speaker diarization automatically detects and separates every voice in a recording. The editing interface makes it easy to review, rename, and reassign speaker labels through a drag-and-drop system that requires no technical knowledge. Colour-coded labels, bulk reassignment, and inline corrections are all handled in a single panel. It is, by some margin, the most intuitive speaker-tagging interface currently available for a general-audience transcription tool.

Translation

Once a transcript or subtitle set exists, Dub-Dub.ai translates it into more than 150 languages in a single step. Subtitle generation and translation together in one workflow removes the agency or freelancer invoice that would otherwise sit between a creator and a global audience.

API Access (Coming Soon)

A developer API with MCP (Model Context Protocol) support is in development, enabling Dub-Dub.ai to run as an agent inside automated pipelines — connecting transcription and subtitle generation directly to existing content stacks and AI-assisted workflows.

Who Uses Dub-Dub.ai

The platform is used across a wide range of industries, connected not by sector but by a shared expectation: that transcription and subtitle generation should be accurate, private, and priced fairly.

Videographers deliver captioned edits directly to clients without outsourcing subtitle generation or risking footage confidentiality. Podcasters use it to generate episode transcripts, show notes, and subtitled clips for social platforms. YouTubers improve accessibility, increase search indexing through on-page transcripts, and reach non-English audiences with translated subtitles — without re-recording content. Journalists transcribe interviews accurately while keeping source recordings strictly private. Legal teams process deposition recordings, hearings, and client meetings with the data governance certainty their professional obligations require. Qualitative researchers manage interview archives at scale, with translated transcripts that make cross-market analysis significantly faster. Enterprises localise internal communications, training videos, and customer-facing media across regional teams — at a per-use cost that makes individual projects economically viable.

Built by CORTiX Limited

Dub-Dub.ai is a product of CORTiX Limited, a Hong Kong SAR-based technology company spun off from ['mediPr] by Stijn van den Borne. CORTiX Limited also operates CORTiX.io, an AI-powered editing and research toolkit for medical writers, pharmaceutical professionals, and clinical researchers.

Stijn van den Borne is the founder of CORTiX Ltd, the parent company of Dub-Dub.ai in hong-kong

The two products serve different audiences but share the same foundational approach: tools built by practitioners who felt the problem themselves, with privacy, usability, and fair pricing as design constraints rather than afterthoughts. The data governance principles at the core of Dub-Dub.ai were originally developed for the pharmaceutical context at CORTiX.io, where confidentiality is a contractual requirement, not a feature flag.

CORTiX Limited operates both products on a pay-as-you-go basis, with no enforced monthly minimums and no features withheld behind higher subscription tiers.
